Migrating into Singapore via the MAS administered Financial Investor Scheme (FIS)
In a bid to attract quality investors to contribute to the growth of financial service sector of Singapore, the government has introduced several incentive programs and schemes to achieve this aim. One of the schemes allows quality investors to obtain Singapore Permanent Residency status upon the fulfillment of certain conditions.
To qualify for migration by way of the MAS administered FIS scheme, the following criteria must be satisfied:
- Main applicant to have at least S$20 million Net Personal Assets (NPA).
- Applicant is required to place a minimum of S$10 million worth of assets in Singapore.
- For the S$10 million assets placed, up to S$2 million can be utilized to purchase private residential properties with the remaining amounts placed as financial assets to be managed by MAS approved financial institutions.
Who can you bring to Singapore under the FIS scheme?
- The scheme covers the applicant and his/her immediate family, defined as spouse and unmarried children below the age of 21 years old.
- For unmarried children above the age of 21 years old, an additional S$5 million financial assets must be placed for each child.
- Parents of main applicant can apply for a 5 year Long Term Visit Pass.
How do I obtain Singapore Citizenship through this scheme?
- Upon successful application of the scheme, you will be granted Singapore Permanent Residency. After staying in Singapore for 2 years as a Permanent Resident, you may apply for Singapore Citizenship under this scheme.
